Freshening Up

You may have noticed that the blog looks a wee bit different. Consider the change to be pre-spring cleaning and self-motivation. One simply needs to change the décor after a while and see a flush of new color. Or less color. Out with the chaotic red grass and on with the eucalyptus. I don’t want to cringe every time I return to the blog. I’m sure you don’t either. 😉 Just think freshness and calm, oncoming spring.

I can’t take credit for this beautiful photo I’m using as my theme. This is by Jazmin Quaynor via Unsplash. This must be proof that I’m at heart a minimalist because I find joy in sagey-green branches and water and a slight shadow against the wall.

This blog is a year and a half old, an eternity in internet time, and I know I haven’t spent nearly as much time here as I’d intended. I hope I can change that. The year is still young… even though 2017 already feels old, but we won’t get into that. I have simple aspirations for this year, finding that place where joy and moxie meet and blend together seamlessly. If the world isn’t peaceful, we must make our own pockets of peace in our art, and I intend to keep doing that in the quiet moments I have at home, in snatches of day dreams, in the gritty uncertainty of figuring out a sequel to my in-the-hands-of-my-betas novel. I’ll have my hygge days and my occasional retreats into Netflix, but there will be light and new things and new words.

In that way spring is already here.

  1. I really like the new look! I’m thinking I need to change my blog up, but I’ve had it for SO long that moving everything isn’t going to be easy.

And this weather has been CRAZY. I’ve got all the windows open in my house today and it definitely feels like spring.
